About
Origin Story
One of our Founding Partners became his mother’s co-caretaker during her long and trying battle with cancer. During his mother’s battle with cancer, Founder learned that his mother was benefiting from cannabinoid treatment. As he witnessed first-hand the efficacy of cannabis treatment, Founder began to wonder if there were better delivery methods and began experimenting with cannabis infusion edibles recipes. Founder’s interest in providing efficient means of cannabis treatments led to his partnering up with one of his close friends, a world-class Michelin star chef, to devise product recipes that would provide better means for administering his mother’s cannabis treatments. What started out as friends providing moral support and a few recipe suggestions, became a serious passion and a platform on which the friends interacted on what they noticed was a deeper level of human connectivity. Founder and his friend became enthralled with the idea of making great tasting cannabis-infused products.
Founder’s mother eventually passed. The Company was formed in her memory – what started out as “pot brownies” became a business with the goal of making the world’s most delicious and precisely crafted cannabis infused edibles.

Hiring: Our conscientious hiring and recruitment methods have allowed Baked Buds to achieve 70% employment of staff that qualifies under Illinois’ Social Equity Applicant guidelines as residents of Disproportionately Impacted Areas (DIAs) or for having an expungable offense under Public Act 101-0027
Manufacturing: Baked Buds has established its manufacturing facility in the Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago (ICNC), a socially conscientious manufacturing incubator that employs local Chicagoans and creates opportunities for individuals from DIAs
Partnership: Baked Buds prioritize contracting relationships with other social equity and minority-owned businesses by carefully monitor Illinois’ cannabis license awards to aligning itself with other Transportation, Craft Growing, and Dispensary social equity and minority-owned businesses.
Community Engagement: Community Engagement. Baked Buds is committed to local, equity-based hiring, as well as internal promotions and employee enrichment programs. Further, as a cannabis infusion operator, Baked Buds is committed to partnering with local substance abuse organizations and initiatives in order to be a responsible participant in the state’s cannabis marketplace. Finally, Baked Buds is committed to partnering with online resources to provide information and counseling with respect to Youth Education.
